Pre-kindergarten classes on Tuesday through Friday afternoons (12:50-3:20) Combination-Age classes on Tuesday through Friday mornings (9:00–11:30) This unique partnership between a public school and a private preschool allows us to fully integrate children with special needs with those that are typically developing. McKenny Preschool strives to maintain a 7:1 child/staff ratio. ¨ Your family has the opportunity to become a part of the McKenny Program through your child’s attendance by:

*Attending school assemblies and other special events.

*Use Physical Education facilities.

*Becoming familiar with the physical layout of the school.

*Exploration on the playground.

*Having 3rd through 5th grade students come in to interact with the children.

*Visit the library once per week with the librarian.

 

McKenny Preschool is among the growing number of programs in the State of Washington to integrate children with special needs with children who are typically developing.

The integration of the children benefits all who attend the program.  The children gain leadership skills as well as an understanding and acceptance of differences in other children.
